The following is a list of our lowest 2008 crop hail rates.  The premium rate reflects coverage at $100 per acre with NO deductible.  Other coverage options, including those with deductibles, are available.  Please stop by our office to find out the best options for your farming operation.

There are several hail insurance options you might consider.  The rates listed above are the Basic Coverage rates.  Here are descriptions of available options:

BASIC: Full coverage, NO deductible.  Proves a loss payment when the adjusted hail loss equals 1.0% or more.  When the adjusted loss exceeds 70.0%, Catastrophe Loss Award (CLA) is paid.  Catastrophe Loss Award pays an additional one-half (1/2) of 1.0% for each percent of loss in excess of 70.0%. Example: Adj. % Loss/Net Payable Loss is 1.0%-1.0%, 70.0%-70.0%, 80.0%-85.0%, 90.0%-100.0%.

DXS10: Ten percent (10.0%) disappearing deductible.  When the adjusted hail loss exceeds 10.0%, the loss payment is the excess of 10.0% multiplied by 1.25.  Hail loss in excess of 50.0% are payable same as BASIC full coverage. Example: Adj. % Loss/Net Payable Loss is 10.0%-0.0%, 20.0%-12.5%, 30.0%-25.0%, 50.0%-50.0%.

BDXS10: Combination policy with 50.0% of the liability as BASIC and 50.0% of liability as DXS10.

Comp 2: The Companion 2 policy provides loss payment on the field(s) when the average appraised percent of loss for the field(s) exceeds 5.0%.  The loss payment shall be that percent of loss in excess of 5.0%, multiplied by 2.  The total insurance applying to the field(s) shall be paid when the appraised percent of loss for the field(s) equals or exceeds 55.0%.  The total payable percentage of loss shall not exceed 100.0%.
